Born on August 2, 1968 in Village
Pabnawa, Distt. Kaithal, State Haryana, he did his Matriculation from Govt.
High School, Pabnawa in 1984, Pre-Medical from University College, Kurukshetra
(Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra) in 1986 , B.V.Sc.& A.H. from College
of Veterinary Sciences, Hisar in 1991, M.V.Sc. (Veterinary Parasitology)
from C.C.S Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar in 1993 and Ph.D.(Veterinary
Parasitology) from same University in 1999. He joined as Scientist (Veterinary
Parasitology) at NAARM, Hyderabad on dated 22.03 .1996 and subsequently
at National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner, Rajasthan on dated 02.09.1996.
He is presently working as Scientist (Veterinary Parasitology) and Incharge
Parasitology Laboratory at National Research Centre on Equines, Hisar (Haryana).
He is recipient of National Scholarship from 1984 to 1986 and 1986 to 1991,
Indian Council of Agricultural Research -Junior Research Fellowship from
1991 to 1993 (During M.V.Sc.) and Dr. K.S.Krishnan Senior Research Fellowship
by Department of Atomic Energy Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (during
Ph.D.). He is recipient of Jawaharlal Nehru Award for outstanding Post Graduate
Agricultural Research 2000 in the field of Veterinary Parasitology awarded
by Indian Council of Agricultural Research on dated July16, 2001 at New
Delhi. He has also been awarded Prof. B.V Rao Gold medal- 1997 for best
research article published in Indian Veterinary Journal by Indian Veterinary
Association and second best poster prize for the article "Evaluation
and conservation of double humped camel (Camelus bactrianus) in cold desert
region of Ladakh" during the scientific programme of National Workshop
on "Conservation and Management of Genetic Resources of Livestock"
held at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology , Pant Nagar
from Feb.21-23 ,2000.
He is Life member of various scientific societies viz. Indian Science Congress
Association, Indian Veterinary Association, Indian Association for the Advancement
of Veterinary Research, Indian Society for Parasitology, Indian Association
for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology, National Academy on Vector-Borne
Diseases, Acarological Society of India and Agricultural Research Service
Scientists Forum. He acted as course coordinator for training course on
"Camel Management and Health" organized by National Research Centre
on Camel, Bikaner from 19th -28th May, 1999 and Associate Course Coordinator
for training course on "Advances in Diagnosis, Treatment and Control
of Camel Diseases" organized by National Research Centre on Camel,
Bikaner from 16th Sept.-25th Sept., 2002. He published 24 research articles
in the Journals of National and International repute.
He has been involved in various research projects, Immunological control of ticks; Investigation on parasitic diseases in camel; Developing, validating and standardizing methodologies for immuno-diagnosis and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for trypanosomosis in camel; Studies indigenous system of medicine against sarcoptic mange in camel ; Studies on prevalence, characterization and antibiotic sensitivity of intra mammary infection in camel; Evaluation and conservation of double humped camel (Camelus bactrianus) in cold desert region; Characterization and conservation of Jaisalmeri camel.
