Scientists

Born on June 18, 1967 in Sohna, Distt. Gurgaon, State Haryana, he did his Matriculation from Kendriya Vidyalaya Tirumulgherry, Lal Bazar, Secunderabad, (AP) in 1983 and 12th standard from same school in 1985. He did his B.V.Sc. & A.H. from College of Veterinary Sciences, Hisar in 1991, M.V.Sc. (Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology) from C.C.S Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar in 1995 and Ph.D. (Veterinary Public Health) from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttaranchal under guidance of Prof. D. C. Thapliyal in 2004. He joined as Scientist (Veterinary Public Health) at Central Institute for Research on Goats, Makhdoom, Mathura on dated 06.12.1997 and subsequently at National Centre for Veterinary Type Cultures facility at NRCE, Hisar on dated 01.06.2006. He is presently working as Scientist (Senior Scale) (Veterinary Public Health) towards the establishment of National Center of Veterinary Type Culture at National Research Centre on Equines, Hisar (Haryana).
The Scientist has planned and executed two research projects as PI and has been co-investigators in many other projects and one externally funded project. Following is the break up of the projects in which he has been involved.

Scientist has published more than 20 Research papers and review articles and more than 10 popular articles in English and Hindi language for dissemination of Public health awareness in general.

Scientist has major research interest in Food-Microbiology, Epidemiology and Biology of Zoonotic Pathogens such as Brucella spp, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus spp., Aeromonas spp. and Pasteurella spp. Scientist has worked on prevalence of motile aeromonads in meat and milk, prevalence isolation and characterization of Enterotoxigenic and Enterohemorhhagic Escherichia coli of goat origin, Biology and proteins of Brucella abortus and enumeration of Staphylococcus spp. in goat milk as some of his research priorities.

As major impetus of his future work will be on planning and development of Veterinary Type Culture Collection at National Centre for Veterinary Type Cultures at Hisar, his future works will be isolation and characterization of bacteria and fungi of Food-Hygiene and Zoonotic importance.

Scientist had rare honor of being invited at Platinum Jubilee celebrations of National Academy of Sciences at Allahabad in 2005. The special invitation was accorded on account of publication of his review “Brucellosis in water buffaloes” in a special commemorative volume “Infectious diseases of domestic animals and Zoonoses in India”. Ed. V. Tandon and B N Dhawan. Proc. Nat. Sci. India. 75(B). Special Issue 2005. The Platinum Jubilee was marked by speeches by such stalwarts as President, H.E. Dr. A. P. J. Kalam and CSIR DG Dr. R A Mashelkar.

Scientist has been active as Editor, Journal of Immunology and Immunopathology published from Izatnagar, Bareilly. He has been active in bringing out more than 10 issues of the bi-annual Journal from 2001 onwards, a work that adds to his joy of working in the field of Science.

He is holding membership of many scientific societies and associations such as Life Member- Indian Association of Veterinary Public Health Specialists, Life Member-Society for Immunology and Immunopathology, Bareilly, Life Member- Indian Society for Sheep and Goat Production and Utilization (ISSGPU), CSWRI, Avikanagar, Life member- Indian Association of Animal Production, N. Delhi, Life member- Indian Association of Veterinary Microbiologists, Immunologists and Specialists in Infectious Diseases, Bareilly.

Scientist has been an active Sportsperson with active interest and participation in Interzonal ICAR Institution Sports meets. He is an avid Chess and Table–tennis player. He has brought laurels to his previous Institute by finishing second in Table-Tennis Team Competition at North Zone interzonal Inter-institutional Sports meet at NDRI, Karnal in 2005. He has been active as Incharge of Sports and Cultural affairs of his institute for more than 2 years.
