Dr. Yash Pal was born on 26th December 1963 and did his schooling from Village Pai in Kaithal district of Haryana (India). He did his graduation in Agricultural Sciences from Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. In 1988, he acquired his Master's degree in Animal Production Physiology from College of Animal Sciences, Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, working in the field of Animal Physiology with specialization on reproduction. He did his Doctorate degree from National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal on the topic "Circulatory levels of hormones and metabolites during initiation and early lactation in crossbred cows and buffaloes".

In June 1993, he joined as Scientist at National Research Centre on Equines, Hisar. He has worked in different research projects, which include adaptation studies in equines, draughtability studies and reproductive hormones including use of ultrasound in equine reproduction.

Involvement in current research projects of NRCE

  1. Cryopreservation of stallion semen and perfection of AI in Marwari horses
  2. Development of equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) based ELISA based test for pregnancy diagnosis in equines
