Dr. A. Arangasamy, born in 1974, did his graduation in Veterinary Science
in 1998 from Madras Veterinary College (T.N.) followed by M.V.Sc. and Ph.D.
in Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics from Indian Veterinary Research
Institute, Izatnagar, Bareilly (U.P.) in 2000 and 2003, respectively. He
then joined Indian Council of Agricultural Research as Scientist in 2003
at Equine Production Campus (NRCE), Bikaner.
He conducted a study on Effect of certain additives on freezability and
fertility of crossbred (HF ? H) bull spermatozoa and isolation of buffalo
seminal plasma proteins and their effect on in vitro capacitation, acrosome
reaction and fertilizing potential of spermatozoa as M.V.Sc and Ph.D. thesis,
respectively.
As an M.V.Sc and Ph.D. research scholar he conducted experiment on basic
semen characteristic assessment like motility, concentration, live and dead,
acrosomal integrity, enzyme activity and cryopreservation with added additives
i.e. (ProstaglandinF2alpha, Oxytocin and BHT) methods in crossbred bull
semen. Seminal plasma Protein isolation, purification with affinity chromatograpghy
and molecular weight determination with SDS-PAGE. In vitro fertility tests
i.e. BCMPT, HOST, in vitro capacitation and acrosome reaction, oocytes collection
from slaughter house ovaries, in vitro maturation of oocytes and sperm-egg
binding assay.
